Lawrence Mackie House is in Wellesbourne, a village with shops, hairdressers, Sainsburys, doctors’ surgery and with direct bus routes to local towns. Every Monday evening, we have Bingo for the residents and local community, Throughout the year we also do events for charity and afternoon tea along with fish and chip nights. There are beautiful gardens all the way round the scheme, with lots of places to sit. Large communal lounge, library and kitchen that can be used by all residents. The local surgery works closely with the scheme and does home visits when needed. There is a library in Wellesbourne which is a short walk from the scheme which holds lots of daily activities. Car parking on site, a lift, a communal laundry room with 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. A scooter room that is secure for you to keep your scooter in. We don’t allow dogs, however at managers discretion a cat maybe a possibility. There is a guest room on site if family or friends wanted to stop. Each flat is self-contained with your own front door, walk in shower, kitchen, lounge, and bedroom, with great storage cupboards. Living at Lawrence Mackie House can be however you want it to be, we still have people that go out to work, people that keep themselves to themselves, or people that get involved in activities. This is independent living; therefore, you can be as involved as you want. There are 2 local cafes in the village of Wellesbourne where the scheme is, and volunteer drivers to take you into local towns if you don’t want to get on a bus. We have an Indian and Chinese restaurant and 2 pubs. The local community help organise trips to Evesham, garden centres and even Weston Super Mare..
