Changes to Home Choice Plus website from Tuesday 27 April 2021

The Home Choice Plus website is being upgraded and improved on Tuesday 27 April 2021.

The improved website will have these additional features:

- Improved security. After the upgrade, you will be required to add a password to your application, in addition to using your memorable date. On first logging on, the system will prompt you to create a password. This must have at least 2 lower case letters, 2 upper case letters and 2 numbers. Symbols and punctuation are not allowed

- Uploading your own documents. You will be able to upload your own supporting documents to your application.  This will be accessed from the My Account page under Social Housing (Upload/View documents)

Please contact your local Home Choice Plus office if you have any problems accessing your account after the upgrade. 


Changes to Home Choice Plus partnership

The Home Choice Plus partnership is changing!

From 7th September 2020 no further applications for Malvern Hills, Wychavon and Worcester City will be processed on Home Choice Plus. 

All new applicants for housing in Malvern, Wychavon and Worcester City areas should apply via

All existing Home Choice Plus applicants for housing in these areas have been advised where to re-apply. 

Home Choice Plus will continue to operate for housing in Bromsgrove, Stratford-on-Avon and Wyre Forest District areas and applicants registered in these areas are not affected by this change.

Bidding on properties

When placing bids on properties, it is important that applicants place bids in line with the lettings criteria as stated in the property advert.


Please read the property advert carefully.


For instance, if the property advert says "For households with two or more children", you should not bid if you have one child.


If you do place bids on properties you are not eligible for, your bid is likely to be skipped.

Changes to Home Choice Plus property and bidding lines

Due to a significant reduction in the number of customers using the Home Choice Plus Property and Bidding Lines, this is to notify that we will be discontinuing these phone lines from the 1st December 2018.

Homelessness Reduction Act 2017

From the 3rd April 2018 local housing authorities will have new duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.  

Those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and are dealt with under the new duties will be placed into the Gold Plus or Silver Plus band depending on their local connection, although Reduced Preference may also be applied as appropriate.  

This will be until the Prevention and/or Relief Duty is ended or a homeless decision has been made, when the banding will be reassessed.
