Home Choice Plus will close to new Housing Register applications on 17 August 2026 as part of the transition to Stratford-on-Avon Home Choice.

Stratford-on-Avon Home Choice will open for applications on 15 September 2026. This will include a re-registration period for existing Housing Register applicants, as well as applications from new applicants.

The first properties will be advertised through the new scheme from 27 October 2026.

Bromsgrove District Council is changing the system used for social housing applications in Bromsgrove District.

If you are seeking housing in that district, then from 17 August 2026, you will need to reapply on the new system.

From that date, please use the link that will be provided nearer the time to the new system and follow the steps there to reapply.

Please do this as soon as possible from 17 August. This is so that your reapplication will have plenty of time to be reassessed.

Please ensure your email address on the current system is up to date so that you receive an email about this closer to the time.

If you do not reapply your application will be closed.

If you reapply by 1 October 2026, and your reapplication receives the same banding, then your original effective date will stay the same and you will not lose your waiting time.

Please note that the current system will close to new applications when the new system opens to applications on 17 August.

However existing applicants will still be able to keep bidding on homes on the current system until 28 September 2026.

Between 28 September and 6 October there will be no advertised properties to bid on while the systems are changed over.

Homes will then start being advertised to applicants on the new system on 6 October 2026, when it goes fully live.

The current system, and all applications on it, will be closed on 6 October 2026.

From 31 March 2026, there has been a change to the Home Choice Plus partnership. The partnership now consists of Bromsgrove District Council and Stratford on Avon District Council. 

Applicants who may wish to register for properties in Wyre Forest District Council area will need to register on the Council's new website: Home - Wyre Forest

Wyre Forest District Council is changing the system used for social housing applications.

If you are seeking housing in Wyre Forest District area, you must re-register onto https://www.wyreforesthomechoice.org.uk/

Properties are due to be advertised on the new system from 31st March 2026. Properties will not be advertised on Home Choice Plus for Wyre Forest area after 24th March 2026.

If you register by 31st March 2026 and your circumstances are unchanged, you will retain your banding and band start date.  

Please note that there are approximately 3,000 Wyre Forest applicants. If you do not re-register as soon as possible we can’t guarantee your account will be active for the 1st April 2026.

This does not affect Stratford or Bromsgrove applicants.
